The Conflict Records Research Center (CRRC), as previously announced, continues to add to its al-Qaeda and Associated Movements Collection. Since late 2014, the Center has added 166 records totaling 1980 pages. The focus of this effort are records from al-Qaeda-affiliated groups in Iraq through the end of 2011. These documents cover internal correspondence on plans and operations, media and propaganda initiatives, as well as letters that threaten punishment or call for support and cooperation.

The CRRC has begun to release a small number of these documents publicly. In cooperation with the (W)Archives feature on the War on the Rocks website, commentary is also provided for these select records.

Records are added weekly to the AQAM Collection as they become available. Interested researchers may check the summary and index posted to the CRRC website. In addition, records are still being added to the Saddam Hussein Collection. To date, 55 records totaling 2118 pages are newly available.

If you have questions about either of these collections, please contact the CRRC directly. We encourage you to arrange your visit within the next few months. Sincerely, The Conflict Records Research Center crrc@ndu.edu
